I was going to call her yesterday but then figured why not just wait until today, the anniversary of her mother&#8217;s\/my mother-in-law&#8217;s death. I&#8217;m glad I called her. She&#8217;s getting the family ready for a Seder up North but we had a quick chat. I told her I&#8217;d lit candles by Evelyn&#8217;s picture today but we talked mostly about our kids, and our businesses. She&#8217;s a home organizer and is finishing up a support group she was running. I&#8217;m an unemployed Granny Nanny just starting my business. I am so glad Chris reminded me of my commitment to writing. I need to remember that as a creative, it is better to do something badly than not create at all. In my case, this goes for writing. Practice, practice, practice.<\/p>\n<p>For our beloved Evelyn today and all the mothers out there from <a href=\"http:\/\/bohemiansinglemom.blogspot.com\/\"><span>Bohemian Single Mom&#8217;s<\/span><\/a> blog post today:<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers don&#8217;t eat quiche;<br \/>they don&#8217;t have time to make it.<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils<br \/>are probably in the sandbox.<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers often have sticky floors,<br \/>filthy ovens and happy kids.<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers know that dried play-dough<br \/>doesn&#8217;t come out of carpets.<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers don&#8217;t want to know what<br \/>the vacuum just sucked up.<\/p>\n<p>Real Mothers know that a child&#8217;s growth<br \/>is not measured by height or years or grade&#8230;<br \/>It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The Images of Mother<br \/>4 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; My Mommy can do anything!<\/p>\n<p>8 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; My Mommy knows a lot! A whole lot!<\/p>\n<p>12 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; My Mom doesn&#8217;t really know quite everything.<\/p>\n<p>14 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; Naturally, Mom doesn&#8217;t know that, either.<\/p>\n<p>16 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; My Mother? She&#8217;s hopelessly old-fashioned.<\/p>\n<p>18 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; That old woman? She&#8217;s way out of date!<\/p>\n<p>25 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; Well, she might know a little bit about it!<\/p>\n<p>35 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; Before we decide, let&#8217;s get Mother&#8217;s opinion.<\/p>\n<p>45 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?<\/p>\n<p>65 YEARS OF AGE &#8211; Wish I could talk it over with Mom.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,<br \/>because that is the doorway to her heart,<br \/>the place where love resides.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,<br \/>but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.<br \/>It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she<br \/>shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!<\/p>\n<p>I like to think that when the sun came out today, that was Evelyn saying hello.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I called Chris, my sister-in-law.
